In order to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of local industries and revitalizing the local economy, the Association, participating organizations, and certified businesses certify safe, high-quality foods as Kyoto Brand Foods. By enhancing efforts such as quality assurance and sales promotion for certified products, the Association strives to gain even greater trust from consumers and attract new participants.

Business Overview
Certified as a high-quality Kyoto brand food
Until now, Kyoto processed foods have maintained a relatively strong position in the domestic market, but in the midst of price competition in recent years, food processors and retailers from other prefectures have been mass-distributing foods using names such as "Kyoto-style XXX" or "Kyoto XXX" to make them appear as high-value-added products, and there have been frequent cases of these names being used in newspaper advertisements, etc. This project aims to differentiate foods that are backed by high quality and tradition and are worthy of the Kyoto brand, which represents Japanese food culture, by certifying them as "Kyoto Brand Foods," thereby differentiating them from other producing regions and thereby contributing to the promotion of Kyoto's food industry and tourism.
Kyoto brand food certification
We will certify Kyoto foods that are safe and secure, and that are made using traditional or high-quality methods as "Kyoto Brand Foods," and promote them widely to prefectural residents and tourists, promoting efforts to improve healthy eating habits. We will also strengthen the industry's mutual learning by establishing committee functions, and continue to certify high-quality Kyoto Brand Foods.

Our Brand
While the "Kyoto Ginmi Hyakusen Kyoto Brand" is an individual brand of each association, it is also aiming to become a "Unified Kyoto Brand" within the "Kyoto Food Industry Association," which is envisioning its future realization. In order for high-quality food that highlights Kyoto's unique character to be widely recognized, one of the goals of establishing the "Kyoto Ginmi Hyakusen Kyoto Brand," which is led by each association under the council, is to "expect a synergistic effect," with the goal being that the combined efforts of each association member association (each association's brand development activities) will increase recognition and make a strong impact on Kyoto residents and tourists.
