As a member of the National Grain Traders Cooperative Association and the Kansai Grain Traders Cooperative Association, we are working to increase consumption of beans in particular.
In cooperation with JA Zennoh Kyoto and other Kinki agricultural organizations, we are particularly committed to the production and distribution of the region's specialties, Tamba Dainagon and Tamba Black Beans.
Member organization: Kyoto Prefecture Food Industry Council
Participated in the Kyoto Prefecture Agriculture and Fisheries Festival, selling beans at one-third of the market price. Striving to promote consumption by holding a lottery to win pressure cookers and other items.
Regular meetings will be held at least once a month to communicate trends in the food industry as well as national industries, and to consider and implement various countermeasures.
Overview
Beans and other grains are important foods that have been eaten as preserved foods for a long time around the world, and in recent years their nutritional value has been reevaluated, and even their medicinal properties have been touted. However, as can be seen in the case of black beans eaten at New Year's, the custom of cooking your own food from freshly dried beans is gradually disappearing, especially in Japan. At the same time, agriculture itself is on the decline due to the aging of Japanese producers and a decrease in cultivated land area. In order to halt this trend and revive demand for beans and other foods, we are fortunate to be in Kyoto, which is known as the birthplace of Japanese food culture, and we will work with producers to increase consumption.
