Overview
There are six sake brewing associations (Mineyama, Miyazu, Fukuchiyama, Kyoto Tanba, Kyoto, and Fushimi) from the Tango region in the north to the Yamashiro region in the south, and the Kyoto Prefecture Sake Brewers Association is made up of these six associations. Each association has a total of 40 member companies (as of January 1, 2025), and boasts the second-highest production volume in the country. Using rice grown in Kyoto Prefecture and selected from around the country, each brewery carefully settles in their local area and produces sake.
